Torsion springs

Torsion springs are torsion springs that are subjected to a moment load from a pair of forces acting in parallel planes perpendicular to the spring axis.

There may be two types:

  • Torsion bar;
  • Twisted torsion springs.

Torsion springs are used in the following assemblies and units:

  • return mechanisms
  • weapon
  • suspension propulsion
  • switchgear
  • ventilation systems
  • stop and ratchet mechanisms
  • medical equipment
  • clockwork springs, etc.
